about

Art Practice
Using both traditional and virtual mediums, my artist practice explores themes such as gender and sexuality, an inversion of the male gaze, and divinity in relation to the current day.
I frequently draw inspiration from religious themes and images, integrating characters with religious symbols such as halos or devil horns to represent status, values and ideals. As well as utilizing contemporary and modern art works as inspirations, such as the Kiss (Klimt 1907).My work explores and challenges male stereotypes through the reassignment of gender roles and personality traits, as well as the sexualization of men in the same formats and characteristics that have been attached to women in media and advertisements. To experiment with lighting, colour, and depth in my pieces, I use digital art applications such as Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop.Finding multiple combinations to accentuate storytelling elements and connect concepts is a common occurrence. In my art, I frequently use a combination of vivid and vibrant colours, with blue often being one of them. I also take inspiration from social media and modern animation, with Studio Ghibli being one of my top favorites.I am currently based in Ontario, Canada and do not take commissions.
